These midrange Winnipeg Hotels have a lot to offer at a sensible price!

Here are the best midrange Winnipeg hotels, all very good quality but midrange in price -- about $100 to $150 per night and up (plus tax).

They are all high ranking in amenities, service, guest satisfaction (and that includes their reputations among locals) and location.

All the midrange Winnipeg Hotels on this page are the kind of places where you’ll walk in the door and sigh with relief while your spouse or partner or friend says something like, “Gee. This is nice.”

Three good choices for midrange Winnipeg Hotels Downtown

Place Louis Riel All-Suite Hotel, the ideal combination of hotel and apartment

Place Louise Riel is an all-suites hotel in downtown Winnipeg

If you’re looking for accommodation that combines the service of a very good hotel and the convenience, space and privacy of your own downtown Winnipeg apartment, Place Louis Riel is a practical choice.

As Winnipeg’s only entirely-suites hotel, it offers studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, all with full kitchens.

Friends who have stayed here liked the licensed restaurant and the just-like-home (or better) atmosphere. They also say the beds are comfortable and the staff, they report, are stars.

There is a fitness centre, the style is fresh and contemporary, and small pets are OK, though there is a $10 per night charge for them to stay.

They have a romance package that gets raves and a significant collection of Aboriginal art for guests to enjoy -- there are two or three original works in each suite.

Great central location, too -- one block from MTS Centre and a 10-minute stroll (passing restaurants and shops) to the Theatre District. Offers service in both English and French. About $125 per night and up; check for extended-stay and special promotions.

Place Louis Riel All-Suite Hotel, 190 Smith Street, Winnipeg. (204) 947-6961.

Humpty Inn And Suites

Humpty Inn And Suites Winnipeg

Located directly across from the train station and close to The Forks.

Attractive rooms, good breakfasts included in the room price, indoor pool, whirlpool, steam room, high-speed internet, fridge and microwave in the rooms, and I’ve been told that you get a good sleep here because it is surprisingly quiet (constructed with advanced sound-proofing) for a downtown hotel close to everything.

This hotel is also praised for their friendly, efficient staff. About $100 per night, and up.

Humpty Inn And Suites, 260 Main Street, Winnipeg. (204) 942-4222.

Delta Winnipeg at Winnipeg Convention Centre

Delta Winnipeg is next to Winnipeg Convention Centre

The Delta is a favourite among business travellers. Four-and-a-half stars in amenities and quality (but prices start at mid-range). It's attractive, comfortable, quiet, and convenient for vacation visitors.

Connected by skywalk to Winnipeg Convention Centre and close to MTS Centre , it has both indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, a whirlpool and Odyssey Health Club.

There are three restaurants and lounges and also room service is available. Underground parking is another plus.

If you're traveling with family, this hotel has enough pizzaz to appeal to teens and young adults, and two great pools for younger children.

Rooms are spacious and pleasantly contemporary, with good city views. About $100 per night and up – there are also lovely suites at the Delta.

Pets are welcome for an additional $35 (per stay).

Delta Winnipeg, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg. (204) 942-0551.

Would you prefer one of the midrange Winnipeg hotels that’s near the airport?

Greenwood Inn And Suites is unique for its saltwater pool

Greenwood Inn, Winnipeg in June

This three-and-a-half star hotel is just a few minutes from the airport and offers an airport shuttle.

It has a saltwater pool, steam room, and a fitness facility. Conventional contemporary décor, but it is spotless, comfortable and will give you a good breakfast.

A friend who frequently travels for work stayed here when she was in town for a convention and said it was efficient and as comfortable as any business hotel in any city she has stayed at (and she travels frequently throughout North America on business).

Upgrade to a King Suite for something extra special.

Licensed restaurant, lounge, and pets are welcome. Rates are $120 and up, but ask about specials and promotions when you book.

Greenwood Inn And Suites, 1715 Wellington Avenue, Winnipeg. (204) 775-9889.

Country Inn And Suites -- close to restaurants and Polo Park Shopping Centre

Country Inn and Suites, 20 minutes from downtown Winnipeg

Country Inn And Suites is a member of the Sheraton chain with a three-and-a-half star rating. Excellent, but with fewer amenities than the above, but it makes up for this in convenient location, just five minutes from the airport and near Polo Park, the city’s largest shopping mall.

Popular with business travelers, the emphasis here is on comfort and convenience. Continental breakfast is included and pets are welcomed.

About $95 to $135 per night.

Country Inn and Suites, 730 King Edward Street, Winnipeg. (204) 783-6900.
